Plastic Recycling Codes
The following is a list of plastic recycling codes, universally used in the plastics industry. The codes can be used to determine a type of plastic and so identify what surface coatings will adhere to that surface.
 | PETE - Polyethylene Terephthalate Product examples: Soft drinks bottles & cooking oils. |
 | HDPE - High Density Polyethylene Product examples: Containers for fruit juice & liquid detergent. |
 | V - Polyvinyl Chloride Product examples: Water pipes, bottles for shampoo & mineral water. |
 | LDPE - Low Density Polyethylene Product examples: Shopping bags & houseware. |
 | PP - Polypropylene Product examples: Household storage containers. |
 | PS - Polystyrene Product examples: Disposable drinks cups & fast food containers. |
 | OTHER - Other types of less commonly used plastics Product examples: Food containers. |
