Member No: FM01628 BSI British Standards is the National Standards Body of the UK, with a globally recognized reputation for independence, integrity and innovation in the production of standards that promote best practice. It develops and sells standards and standardization solutions to meet the needs of business and society.
HMG Paints is Cyber Essentials Certifie which ensures that best practice is in place and that there are no known vulnerabilities present on the Internet-facing networks and applications.
Open to family firms of all generations, sizes and sectors, these awards really do recognise some outstanding family firms and really help to put family businesses on the map. Judged by a panel of experts from the world of family business advising together with a group of family business representatives, the awards are well respected and sought after accolades.
The British Coatings Federation (BCF) is the sole trade association for the decorative, industrial and powder coatings, printing inks and wall coverings manufacturing industry in the UK. It represents a total market in the UK of £2.2 Billion. The BCF represents 130 companies, which produce about 90% of the UK output of coatings, printing inks and wall coverings. The Federation provides training initiatives, programmes and qualifications for the surface coatings industry; lobbies UK, European and International authorities for the benefit of members; develops industry-focussed guidance; agrees industry priorities; and encourages industry best practice.
HMG Managing Director John Falder is President of the British Coatings Federation and Chairman of the Vehicle Refinish Group and the Industrial Coatings Council of the BCF (British Coatings Federation).
Coatings Care® is the preeminent environmental health and safety management program for coatings manufacturers around the world, and is being actively implemented by paint, printing ink, and adhesives companies in over 11 countries. These companies are making effective use of the programs many resource materials, all of which are aimed at providing business value while enhancing health, safety and environmental performance.
HMG Paints are the only site to have won the award twice, picking up the award in 2015 after our previous win in 2000.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award is given to the company that has demonstrated an outstanding and successful charity or CSR campaign across any aspect of social responsibility, and is awarded to the coatings company that has demonstrated the most beneficial impact to the public.
The symbol is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have agreed to make certain positive commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people.
HMG is the Technical Partner for Prodrive, Aston Martin Racing and Prodrive MINI WRC Team. HMG will be working with Prodrive to develop new coating technology which will improve performance and appearance of the cars for both Aston Martin Racing & MINI WRC.
The Skills Pledge is “a voluntary, public commitment by the leadership of a company or organisation to support all its employees to develop their basic skills, including literacy and numeracy, and work towards relevant, valuable qualifications to at least Level 2 (equivalent to 5 good GCSEs)”. HMG were among the first 150 companies within the country to sign up to the pledge.
HMG were amongst the first companies in the UK to be names as an Export Champion by UK Trade & Investment, thanks to the work we’ve done in relation to Titan HMG Paints in India.
In making products for Sony, a vital requirement is the use of parts, devices and raw materials that are considerate to the environment. Needless to say, it is indispensable to have the cooperation of suppliers to achieve this. Sony call suppliers who are willing to work with them in making products that are sympathetic to environmental conservation Green Partners.
The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs is a grouping of over 450 Clubs and Museums together with some 1500 Trade and Individual Supporters. The aim of the Federation is to uphold the freedom to use old vehicles on the roads without any undue restriction and to support its member organisations in whatever way it can.

The British Marine Federation (BMF) is the trade association for the leisure and small commercial marine industry. They represent businesses involved in: Leisure boats - seagoing and inland, Commercial work boats, Super yachts, Hire fleets. And all the equipment and services needed for those craft.
Making a positive commitment to the long term sustainability of the industry as well as ensuring that the views of our industry are presented to Government and to the EU, and that metal finishing and surface engineering are recognised as important sectors of manufacturing in UKPLC.
