HMG’s manufacture paint systems for military vehicles and equipment and other applicaations, the product range includes corrosion resistant primers and functional topcoats, including CARC and IRR materials approved to UK defence standards.
Along with Def Stan specified products HMG can also provide a number of Mil Spec StanAg and NSN products.
Important specifications such as Def Stan 80-225 and 80-161 are available. HMG provides a full sales and delivery service combined with industry leading technical support and training.
With such a wide range of products including single and multi-pack coatings, HMG have paints suitable for nearly every purpose. Equipment such as containers, trailers, vehicles, bridges and armour can all be coated with HMG Paints. HMG provide a full range of fluid resistant 2 component products as well as single pack primers, enamels and water based products for new and legacy specifications.
All products conform to the relevant defence specifications. In many cases high solids or water based equivalents are available to reduce solvent emissions. The Def Stan 80-225 primer system is a fully chromate free primer suitable for all ferrous substrates.
The Def Stan 80-225 system is a fully IRR finish, meeting the important British Standard colour references BS381C 285 NATO Green and BS381C 361 light stone. This system is tested to UK MOD CARC requirements specified within Def Stan 80-225. Test reports and certificates are available on request.

This product line is a Low VOC multi-pack coating system intended to meet the requirements of Def Standard 80-225. Supplied as a two component Primer meeting Type-1 Ferrous or Type-2 Non-Ferrous substrate protection requirements. Suitable for Military Vehicles and Non-Flight Equipment the coating system is supplied in a Near Matt finish to a variety of colours. Chemical Agent Resistance and Infra-Red Reflectance is available.
This coating system replaces obsolete Def Stan 80-206, 80-207, 80-208, 80-209 systems and removes toxic hexavalent chrome from the coating system.
